About whosegame

What is whosegame?

whosegame is a beta stage online community gaming site that will let users upload & share games or game assets they designed. The main concept of the site consists in providing user generated content, giving the opportunity to Creators (programmers, artists & game designer) to show their talents in game creation.
Visitors of whosegame do not expect each and every available game to be a first-class game; but they know that the ones highlighted on the front page will be

Do I need to register to whosegame to enjoy this site?

You can play games & read contents without registering but in order to use the open game community experience, you will need to register

What is a Gamer for whosegame? What is a Game Creator for whosegame?

Being Gamer or Game Creator is just a status. Any user of both sides may upload his own content with the same rights. This status is used to easily identify game industry professional and non-professional Game Creator.

Can I earn money with whosegame?

A revenue sharing program is however being studied in our team. Moreover, games creation contests allow you to win a lot of pizes.

whosegame is a way to be part of the game universe and to make yourself known for your talent to maybe one day create or integrate a professional studio!



Uploading

How can I upload my game onto whosegame?

To upload your game onto whosegame, simply go to the upload page and follow the instructions

What format of games can I upload?

whosegame currently supports Flash (swf) files. We intend to support other formats soon (exe, Virtools…).

What is the policy for uploaded content?

whosegame is designed to let Game Creators,express their skills whether it is in game design, programming or other artistic talents. The content may be a complete game but also game assets (API, Engines, Graphics, SFX…) that are shared by Creators to let others use them .
Moreover, published contents must comply with the policy of the service (read here for more details).
Most importantly, uploaded games (including in-game assets used by the game) or assets must be your original creation or work If your game includes assets from other contributors you have to make sure that you are allowed to do so and that you comply with what is requested by the owner. Do not forget to cite the original owner in the game credits.

Once I’ve uploaded a game, how can I edit the information associated to that game?

Within your profile page, you will find the list of games you have uploaded. Clicking on the “manage my games” link will bring you to a separate page in which you can edit information for all the games you have uploaded.

Can I send a game to a friend?

Yes! To send a game to a friend, just go to the description page of the game you want to send, click on the "send to a friend" link and follow the instructions.

Can I put a game in my own page?

Yes, you can! In the description page of the game you want to include in your personal page or blog, copy the embedded URL field and past it into your page source or blog.

How can I report a bug I found in a game?

You will find in the game description page (more precisely in the toolbox part) a link “Report a bug” that will give you the possibility to email the issue you discovered to the game Creator.

Moderation

I found a game (or any other type of content) that seems inappropriate. What should I do?

In each game description section, there is an option to notify about inappropriate content. We also encourage users to report files that aren't even game related. Once something has been reported, the whosegame team will shortly review the file and decide whether it fits our policy.
If it does not, the game will be removed from the site and the user who uploaded that game will be emailed with the detailed reason of this removal.

I found a comment that seems inappropriate. What should I do?

In the comment line, there is an option to notify about inappropriate comment. Once something has been reported, the whosegame team will shortly review the comment and decide whether it needs to be removed from the website or not.
The user who posted the moderated comment will be emailed with the detailed reason of this removal.

What kind of behaviour is expected from me on whosegame?
